Accountant

About the Role

Join AITX, a leading railcar services solution provider, as a key member of our Enterprise accounting team. With a growing fleet, our accounting needs are evolving, and we're looking for an accountant to help maintain quality and efficiency. In this hybrid role, you'll be actively involved in all aspects of the accounting process. You'll play a crucial role in supporting our leasing business while enjoying a flexible work environment that promotes work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Accounts Payable invoices for processing.
• Initiate and develop monthly accruals.
• Post journal entries for various areas, including Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR), Revenue, and Expenses.
• Compile and analyze financial information, assist with month-end close activities, and generate reports for analysis.
• Research, track, and resolve any accounting issues or discrepancies.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support ad hoc projects and analysis, including audit requests as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• At least 1-2 years of related accounting experience.
• Basic understanding of US GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like linked spreadsheets, complex formulas, and pivot tables.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams and work independently.
• SAP experience is a bonus
