What We're Looking For:

If you enjoy developing Scaled Agile portfolios while guiding teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices, then you will be excited about the Scrum Master III opening with Iridium for a Space Development Agency (SDA) project. As a Scrum Master III, you will support multiple development teams on an exciting new effort already underway. In this role, you will independently deliver high-quality work and drive projects and deliverables to completion in support of delivering high quality software that meets our customer's critical needs. You will work as part of the project's Agile development team, and be responsible for providing Agile teams guidance on best practices and support in running Scrum and Kanban. You will thrive in this role if you excel at building relationships, problem-solving proactively, and fostering collaboration among geographically dispersed teams.

What You'll Do:
    Be responsible for supporting and executing Agile ceremonies such as daily stand ups, backlog refining sessions, planning, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with the Product Owners and Agile Teams on requirements decomposition, backlog grooming and refinement, and story prioritization
  • Provide recommendations based on metrics evaluated utilizing Agile processes
  • Assist the team in working with the customer to understand their priorities and ensure development team works stories according to the customer priority
  • Drive the creation and maintenance of JIRA boards, backlogs, and burn-down reports to support sprint execution
  • Monitor various metrics and team performance at the sprint, PI, and program level, and communicate clearly to stakeholders
  • Update physical and electronic Agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product backlogs and in-progress work, supporting Development Managers and Project/Product Managers as necessary
  • Play a role in ensuring that development teams are practicing/following core Agile/Scrum/SAFe principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
  • Investigate and recommend continuous process improvement, including active facilitation of reviews and retrospectives, and incorporation of lessons learned for the future
  • Work independently in a proactive manner to identify and elicit each area's needs and opportunity for change via the enhancement process
  • Drive preparation efforts with the development of high-level designs with all business rules, limitations and assumptions thoroughly documented
  • Build stable working relationships with internal personnel and participate in broader team activities
  • Ensure adherence to Earned Value best practices within the Agile framework to maintain accurate program performance tracking and reporting
What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information, or related field
  • 5+ years of related software development life cycle experience
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in Agile, specifically Scrum and Kanban
  • Knowledge and experience using the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA and Confluence)
  • Prior experience as a Scrum Master for Agile Development teams
  • Must be able to diagnose system business/process improvements
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues
  • Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions or come up with solutions
  • Be comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when needed
  • Have confidence and be able to establish valuable relationships with others
  • Must be able to prioritize key tasks and have a strong sense of ownership over your work
  • Be active in seeking out ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledge
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification
  • Prior experience supporting geographically dispersed agile development teams
  • Working knowledge and/or certification in SAFe methodology
  • Experience supporting SAFe Program Increment planning
  • Knowledge and experience with the Department of Defense project life cycle
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
We'll also need you to:
  • Be able to travel up to 10%
  • Be a U.S. citizen
Work Environment:

This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer. The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
