About the role:
As Director- Contracts Development you will lead supporting commercial operations for the AP1000 new plant, Advanced Reactor (AP300) and Energy Storage product lines within the Energy Systems business unit. This is a fully remote role. You will report to the Vice President - Commercial Contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and negotiate engineering and procurement (EP) contracts and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for ES/New Nuclear Plant, Advanced Reactor and Energy Storage business segments.
- Ensure agreement with WEC Legal and other WEC organizations, such as supply chain, for terms and conditions flow downs. you will have a full understanding of EP or EPC T&Cs and agreement with construction partners.
- Lead as an important member of the offer team for new plant offers where the opportunity requires the review and development of contract or commercial agreements.
- Develop and negotiate all agreements that support execution of the prime agreements.
- Support associated internal governance review process (LOA). This may include Non-Disclosure Agreements or Confidential Information Exchange Agreements (NDA/CIEA), Memorandum of Understandings (MOU), Bidder Agreements, Early Works Agreements, Teaming/Consortium Agreements and Shareholder Agreements (SHAs).
- Be the primary commercial interface to partners and develop contracting models and approaches including consortium agreements.
- Support Supply Chain and other teams in the development of flow down terms to suppliers for agreements.
- Evaluate tender commercial requirements and prepare a compliance matrix. Support the Offer Development process to ensure offer meets all of the contract requirements of WEC using contract compliance matrix tools. Provide critical commercial inputs to the LOA materials including completion of the CRET form.
- Draft executive management briefing materials for communication of updates/status of negotiations, agreements.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in new plant EPC contract development and negotiation.
- Technical and commercial project management skills.
- Knowledge of the power industry contracts associated with engineering, operation, maintenance, construction, and supply chain.
- Experience with project management, contractual negotiations. and related financial management tools.
- Broad knowledge of products and all related engineering disciplines.
- Experience with contract terms, ability to react to constantly changing situations and develop approaches to respond to situations in a manner favorable to WEC.
- Commercial contract skills and knowledge.
- Degree in Engineering, Legal, Business or related discipline required
- Experience in terms and conditions for EPC contracts is required.
- Experience in Nuclear helpful
- JD degree coupled with business experience or engineering degree helpful
- Minimum of 15 years of global commercial and contract development experience in progressively more responsible and varied assignments.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $162,000 to $202,500 per year. In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
