THE ROLE:
In this customer quality engineering role, you will lead customer quality engagements across several AMD markets for board & component products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work closely with our customers to understand their quality needs, how they perceive our product quality and support, and mobilize internal and external resources to quickly resolve customer quality issues.
    • Supporting our customer with quality related information and services during their adoption of new devices and technologies.
    • Meet with customers and technical support leads such as sales and FAE to understand customer issues and make decisions on appropriate steps to root cause and resolve.
    • Drive customer issue handling and manage RMA from start to finish.
    • Work with Product Line Quality (PLQ) counterparts to drive internal corrective and preventive actions to achieve ongoing product quality improvements.
    • Shape & improve customer quality scorecard results.
    • Continuously monitor customer reported DPPM line and field failure rates and work to improve them with appropriate corrective actions.
    • Support marketing messaging related new product release for components & boards.
    • Manage relationships, expectations, and escalations from sales, factory, and customers.
    • Plan and manage customer technology assessments, audits, and visits.
    • Provide technical application assistance in failure analysis.
    • Craft and deliver appropriate messaging for customer impacting PCN or quality issues.
    • Regularly report key customer metrics and issues to the AMD leadership team.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Extensive experience working in semi-conductor or electronics in either quality, product engineering, support, or a direct sales role.
  • Advanced IC packaging experience a plus.
  • FPGA and x86-bases processor experience a plus.
  • Experience with application hardware design, semiconductor packaging, GPU or ARM technology, and markets such as datacenter, automotive and aerospace a plus.
  • Experience with PCBA / card level manufacturing, component engineering, test, and/or reliability.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
