Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma

• One (1) Year Hospital or Healthcare Laboratory technician

• Food Safety Handler Certification within four (4) weeks of hire

• Formula/Human Milk Technician Certificate within one (1) year of hire.

• Food safety certification at hospital orientation.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Handles and processes the human milk through the milk bank laboratory.

• Maintains lab equipment, cleaning all areas, storage and distribution zones, and maintain needed operational inventory.

• Processes human milk and performs bacterial testing and macronutrient analysis of the human milk.

• Maintains food handler certification.

• Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.

• Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.

• Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.

• Assists internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.

• May perform other duties as assigned.
