DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will play a crucial role in providing laboratory support by assisting with the testing of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) using the Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) method, as well as conducting tests for Avian influenza. Your responsibilities will include the preparation of tissue samples, ensuring they are adequately processed for further analysis by more advanced technicians. Additionally, you will be tasked with performing routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and facilities to uphold a clean and efficient working environment. You will also assist in the transfer of specimens to other testing laboratories as required, ensuring that all samples are handled with care and in accordance with established protocols. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of laboratory operations and supporting the overall mission of the facility.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Temporary, full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • The candidate selected for this position will be required to be vaccinated against rabies prior to the start of employment and maintain a current rabies vaccination throughout the duration of employment.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
