DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will play a vital role in providing laboratory support across various divisions of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Laboratory. Your primary focus will be within the Immunology Section, specifically in Avian and Mammalian Serology. However, you will also be expected to contribute to seasonal efforts related to chronic wasting disease (CWD) testing and assist with avian influenza testing as required. Under supervision, your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks, including data entry, preparation and setup of tests, processing of specimens, and managing the inventory of laboratory supplies. Additionally, you will be involved in maintaining an organized laboratory environment, overseeing waste management, and ensuring the cleanliness and proper maintenance of laboratory equipment. This multifaceted role is essential for supporting the laboratory's mission and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of testing procedures. Interested in learning more? - Temporary, full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work schedule may be flexible per supervisory approval.
- The candidate selected for this position will be required to be vaccinated against rabies prior to the start of employment and maintain a current rabies vaccination throughout the duration of employment.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
