Moog Space and Defense Group is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for markets including missiles, turreted weapons systems, military ground vehicles, military radar, Naval vessels, and human-rated space vehicles. Emerging areas of focus include metal additive manufacturing, blockchain for supply chain, and sensor integration.

Moog Defense Group is looking for an Associate Electrical Design Engineer to part of a team working on complex motion control systems used on defense applications.These complex systems are primarily focused on, but not limited to the area of electrohydraulic, electropneumatic and electromechanical systems.You will be responsible for the design of PCB's (printed circuit boards) and electrical LRU's (line replaceable unit) used primarily for brushless motor control.The candidate must be able to be part of a team in the design of these items and suggest the architecture and solution for these designs.

To be considered for an Associate Electrical Design Engineer, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Masters in Electrical Engineering preferred

  • Eager to learn, self-motivated, and curious with developing analytical & problem-solving skills

  • Basic experience with circuit schematic design & PCB layout tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCAD)

  • Interest or exposure to power electronics or motor control systems is a plus

  • Familiarity with sensors and basic electrical communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART)

  • Relevant technical experience in electronics design or development

    • Examples: Finite Element Analysis, data trending, effective presentation delivery, tolerance stack-up analysis, 3D modeling, creation of component & assembly drawings.

As an Associate Electrical Design Engineer, some of the design support activities that will support:

  • Support senior engineers in the design and development of electronics

  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to contribute to creative and effective solutions

  • Assist in preparing design documentation, test plans, and technical reports

  • Participate in trade studies and basic analyses under guidance

  • Help execute experimental development and validation testing

  • Learn to document designs and test results clearly and accurately

  • Communicate effectively and contribute to a team-oriented environment

  • Be open to mentorship and actively seek feedback to grow technical and professional skills

  • Provide technical support to Moog suppliers, and participate in supply chain technical issues affecting delivery or product quality

  • Support production related meetings such as Material Review Board, daily production status, Change Review Board

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $75,000.00-$90,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
