Overview

Materials Planning Assistant performs planning administrative tasks, including preparing paperwork, tracking movement of products and materials, and preparing products on the manufacturing floor for shipment and inventory. The position involves working with different computer applications to generate paperwork, log information, and track statuses of work orders.


Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of area manager and planners.
  • Create production work orders in SAP and prepare paperwork for manufacturing.
  • Track production orders on the manufacturing floor and communicate status to area planners.
  • Maintain and file paperwork (drawings, travelers, forms, etc.) and ensure they are the correct revisions on-file.
  • Create paperwork and physically package products for shipment to outside suppliers.
  • Issue chemicals, raw materials, and products in SAP as they are consumed.
  • Perform cycle counts on the manufacturing floor and maintain/adjust inventories in SAP so that they are accurate.
  • Interface with buyers, planners, and supervisors for minor problem resolution (expediting production work orders, requesting follow-ups, etc.)
  • Perform additional tasks like running data reports, kitting materials, completing special projects, and conducting other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Must be detail oriented during all tasks to maintain accurate inventory/records.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School or GED diploma
  • Minimum 1 year of specialized instruction in general office procedures or administrative support experience
  • Fully proficient with computer use including Word & Excel at Intermediate level
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with SAP
  • Very detail oriented
  • Strong communicator
  • Able to work with a variety of different people
  • Positive & flexible attitude doing recurring tasks or taking on new projects

Salary Range: $25.00 - $29.00 hourly (Level II). Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
