The Department

The LifeRTC Operations Team, led by the Head of Operations, provides world-class support and incident response services to our internal and external customers, and is responsible for the monitoring and management of our extensive cloud-based operational infrastructure. The team, consisting of IT professionals, software engineers, and support specialists, ensures our Azure-based products are available, functional, and reliable by applying best practice service management.

The Role

The Data Analyst contributes to the development and improvement of our Billing, Financial, and Management Reporting systems. This role involves collaborating with executive leaders, developers, and operations teams to gather requirements, build efficient data pipelines, deliver impactful reports, and support business intelligence efforts within our practice.

Your Responsibilities:



  • Generate Invoicing and Revenue Reports - Help develop and maintain accurate and timely reporting on billing, revenue, and related financial data.
  • Support Report Automation - Assist in streamlining and automating regular reporting tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Contribute to Data Pipeline Development - Work with Azure Data Factory, Dataflows, and other pipeline tools to build and maintain data workflows supporting analytics and reporting.
  • Build and Improve Power BI Reports and Dashboards - Create visual reports that deliver clear and actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate Across Teams - Work closely with business users and technical teams to gather requirements, define key metrics, and ensure data quality.
  • Integrate Data from Multiple Sources - Help combine data from different systems, ensuring accuracy and good performance.
  • Suggest and Implement Improvements - Identify ways to enhance existing billing, financial, and invoicing reporting processes for better impact.
  • Perform Quality Checks and Troubleshooting - Help identify and resolve data and reporting issues, optimizing performance.


Job Knowledge, Experience Skills

Job Knowledge Required:



  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field, preferred
  • 2-5 years of applicable experience
  • Basic knowledge of data modeling, transformation, and visualization concepts.
  • Understanding of ETL concepts and cloud-based data workflows.
  • Basic knowledge of financial, billing, and invoicing processes and data, preferred.
  • Awareness of data architecture principles, including the medallion model for organizing data lakes or warehouses, preferred.


Experience and Soft Skills Required:



  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Power BI or similar Microsoft data tools.
  • Comfort writing SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Interest in FinOps practices related to cloud cost management and optimization.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to work with complex data.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with scripting in Python, R, or similar languages, preferred.
  • Experience or interest in Azure Dataflows, Azure Synapse, or other Azure analytics services, preferred.
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps, Git, or other version control and deployment tools, preferred.


Location

Candidates hired into this role will be required to work in-person in the Milliman office in Chicago, IL or Seattle, WA on a weekly basis, but flexible work arrangements will be considered.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $65,120 - $104,280 depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
