![]() Clinical Training Coordinator Posting Number: 201104455 Employment Status: Full Time Job Family: Student Support, Advising, and Career Development Position Overview This role is responsible for the administration of practicum and internship clinical placements for master’s degree students, as well as assisting with program assessment and student recruitment, under the direction of the department chair for Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology (CECP). Will require the ability to assess the quality of potential clinical placements to determine if placements meet our program expectations for clinical training and State of Wisconsin regulations for licensing counselors. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Develop and coordinate practicum, internship and field placements for counselor education and counseling psychology program students (i.e., on-campus, online). 2. Develop and maintain, with input from the program faculty, director of training and the department chair, practicum, internship and field placement procedures for all program students. 3. Prepare students for clinical placements, which include teaching and providing supervisory oversight for the online Practicum and Internship Preparation course. 4. Participate in resolution of placement concerns due to student performance or lack of appropriate supervision. 5. Respond to inquiries regarding practicum, internship or field experiences for program students. 6. Develop and maintain strong clinical/school contacts and relationships (e.g., Supervisor Appreciation Breakfast) to facilitate placements for practicum, internship and field placement experiences. 7. Maintain a database of all clinical placements that includes site details (e.g., supervisor contacts, contact information) and student placement information. 8. Responsible for the supervision of student employees which includes but is not limited to hiring, training, disciplinary actions, ending the student’s assignment, etc. 9. Other Responsibilities: • Participate in relevant department and program meetings. • Develop or contribute to reports detailing the status of clinical placements for the department • Participate in program review and due process required for students as described in department or university policies and procedures. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Earned master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or related field Experience as a mental health practitioner. Knowledge of licensing requirements for Licensed Professional Counselors. Strong written and oral communication skills. Conflict resolution skills Time management abilities. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities An earned doctorate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or related field Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (e.g., LPC, Psychologist). A minimum of 3 years of related experience. Knowledgeable of CACREP accreditation requirements.
