Description

As a Principal Systems Engineer in our Space RF Systems group, you will be a key member of an integrated team performing and leading systems engineering tasks for projects as well as supporting the continuous improvement of our Systems Engineering capabilities across the division. You will interface and coordinate with multiple external and internal organizations including stakeholders and other engineering disciplines. You may be asked to lead special projects. Primary responsibilities include leading project SE team efforts working in accordance with systems engineering best practices, methods, and processes, per INCOSE SE Handbook and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2023.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Execute SE Technical Management process (project planning, project assessment and control, decision management, risk management, etc.).
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into system requirements.
  • Develop system architectures and designs.
  • Perform system analyses and trade studies.
  • Develop and execute system verification procedures.
  • Develop, execute, and/or support system validation efforts.
  • Create and maintain necessary technical documentation.
  • Participate in customer reviews.
  • Support the RF, EE, ME, SW, and other engineering disciplines as needed.


Activities performed will depend on the needs and phase of the project(s) supported.

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 12 or more years of relevant experience OR master's degree in engineering with 10 or more years of experience of relevant experience.
  • Solid understanding of the systems engineering processes as described in the INCOSE SE Handbook and/or ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2023.
  • Ten (10) or more years' experience in systems engineering to include multiple SE processes such as life cycle management, requirements engineering, verification and validation.
  • Demonstrated leadership within technical projects.
  • Ability and commitment to obtain an INCOSE certification (CSEP, or ESEP), if not already awarded.
  • Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret and Top-Secret clearance with an SCI designation (Requires US Citizenship).


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Prior experience as a Chief Engineer or Verification & Validation IPT Lead
  • Master's degree
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital twin methodologies
  • Experience briefing senior military leadership and program executives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred)


Salary Range: $155,000 - $225,000
