Job Purpose

With minimal supervision, and in conformance with established policies and procedures, provides first line assistance to clients and to management regarding proficient mortgage loan application processing; effectively moving loan files from application to closing successfully.

Job Duties

  • Performs basic office functions including: taking phone calls, scheduling appointments for Mortgage Consultant, faxing, scanning, and making copies.
  • Assists in the collection of loan documentation for completion of loan file from borrowers.
  • Works efficiently with bank's Operating System to adequately update, review, and submit loan files as necessary. In addition, must review and maintain Mortgage Consultant loan pipeline daily.
  • Packages and sends loan files to appropriate parties for processing, underwriting, and closing along with appropriate follow up to ensure prompt and timely approvals/closings.
  • Works in conjunction with Mortgage Consultant to run loan applications through Automated Underwriting System as required per the suggested loan program guidelines and reviews in order to determine upfront required loan conditions.
  • Collects and follows up on approval conditions required from the customer, as requested by the assigned Mortgage Consultant.
  • Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in completion of all duties and responsibilities.
  • Builds and maintains relationships in the real estate community, which includes but is not limited to realtors, attorneys, abstractors, and insurance companies.
  • Assists Mortgage Consultant with maintaining and updating P1, the bank's customer relationship management software.
  • Assists Mortgage Consultant with marketing needs which includes but is not limited to arranging product information packets and presentations for delivery.
  • Will perform special projects as assigned.

Education, Experience and Job Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent, (i.e. GED)
  • 2-3 years of prior mortgage or mortgage banking experience
  • Ideal candidates will possess previous experience in processing first mortgage loans
  • Ability to deliver effective results and to meet deadlines, managing large loan pipelines and highly detailed documentation
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain high accuracy and work quality standards at times under pressure, with minimal supervision
  • Proficient knowledge of bank's system including: Lotus Notes, Encompass, Decision Pro, IBS, and P1.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, (i.e. GED)
  • 2-3 years of prior mortgage or mortgage banking experience
