Job Summary

Creates and executes the districts alumni and student engagement programs and initiatives. Provides the foundation, strategy, direction and coordination for all alumni functions and initiatives within the district. Plans, Implements and coordinates student engagement programming for the district, including the Superintendent Student Advisory Council. Manages partnerships to advance the work of the district and implements and coordinates special projects and events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in relevant field (business, communications, human services, education, etc.), masters degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in community relations/outreach, business development, volunteer management, fundraising, program management or activities related to the essential functions.
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Responsibilities

  • Implements and coordinates district wide alumni activities, events and outreach including creation of strategies to better connect alumni associations to perspective alumni to help grow MPS alumni base.
  • Implements and coordinates the Superintendents Student Advisory Council (SSAC), including developing curriculum and programming for the council, newsletters, recruiting participants, and implementing all activities for the council.
  • Regularly participate in district student leadership events and activities that amplify student voice.
  • Coordinates initiatives to increase alumni giving, fundraising and participation.
  • Designs, plans, and implements engagement opportunities for MPS students participating in the Superintendent Student Advisory Council including developing in school luncheons, monthly afterschool meetings, board engagement, and events.
  • Prepares reports for the director, superintendent, and MPS board regarding alumni and SSAC engagement efforts.
  • Communicates with alumni, the community, and partners through regular updates to the MPS alumni website, alumni spotlight stories, social media, newsletters and implementation of public awareness campaigns.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
