SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Manager, Strategic Revenue Management, is a member of the Revenue Strategy, Planning, and Analytics (RSPA) team within the Pricing & Revenue Management, Sales, and Distribution (PRMSD) department at Amtrak. The position is the owner of all Amtrak revenue and supply optimization models and products, including advanced business intelligence and analytics tools. The models and tools are utilized by PRMSD inventory, pricing, sales, and distribution teams to execute strategies to achieve yearly growth in current and future customer ridership and ticket revenues exceeding $2.9 billion.

On an on-going basis, the position is responsible for:
* ensuring that the revenue and supply optimization models and products evolve to meet the needs of PRMSD, especially in the evolving post-pandemic economic environment and given the upcoming deployment of new, high-capacity train equipment
* identifying the future needs of PRMSD

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Developing the models and products for the strategic roadmap and vision of revenue and supply optimization such as QSI ("quality of service,") customer WTP ("willingness to pay,") and ROM ("revenue opportunity models,") while considering current and future needs
* Directing and leading development and implementation of revenue and supply optimization models and products, working with PRMSD teams, the Amtrak Digital Technology ("DT") department, and associated vendors
* Managing daily operations of revenue and supply optimization models and products to ensure quality business performance
* Developing inventory, pricing, sales, and distribution strategies with the appropriate teams
* Updating Amtrak's executive team regarding revenue and supply opportunities
* Leading change across
o PRMSD to facilitate adoption of and engagement with new and evolving revenue and supply optimization models and products
o Amtrak to ensure smooth integration with other systems and processes, particularly involving Amtrak operations and the broader Commercial organization

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in any business field, economics, mathematics, or other related fields
* Demonstrated expertise of reservation systems, inventory management systems, offer management systems, and associated concepts in the passenger travel and transportation industry.
* Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and vendor management
* Demonstrated experience with data management tools and working with "big data"
* Demonstrated experience in data science techniques, such as data mining, forecasting, and machine learning
* Demonstrated experience in customer market analysis, pricing, and demand forecasting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* 7+ years of relevant experience in the transportation industry, or Master's degree in any business field, economics, mathematics, or other related fields with 5+ years of relevant experience in the transportation industry

* Experience with change management
* Experience with demand forecasting models in the passenger rail industry
* Experience with revenue analytics models in the passenger rail industry
* Experience with supply optimization models in the passenger rail industry
* Experience with passenger rail reservation systems
* Experience with ("BI") business intelligence tools in the passenger rail industry
* Experience with SQL (in any platform)

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

The salary/hourly range is $113,200-$146,664. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
