Where we Work Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Turkiye. This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. About your skills
About you You are a motivated, meticulous Staff Software Engineer with a customer-focused, team-oriented approach and exceptional problem-solving skills, who aligns with our core values. About this role Udemy is searching for a Staff Software Engineer who embodies our values of lead the way, embody ownership, act as one team, relentless focus, and never stop learning. We expect you to have expertise in ReactJS, Typescript, GraphQL, CSS, MobX (or similar libraries), NextJS (or similar framework), Webpack, NPM, DataDog (or similar tools), accessibility best practices and measuring web performance . We expect proficiency in analytical problem solving, cross-functional communication, and systems thinking. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable designing and leading very complex problems, including navigating projects with ambiguous parameters across teams. As a staff engineer within the portfolio, you will be leading a team to help our learners onboard onto our platform, identify their learning goals, find the right learning content for them, and enhance their skills. We do this by leveraging our platform from recommendations, skills guidance, and GenAI, to name a few. You would be instrumental in driving experiences that enable learners to achieve their goals and improve their lives through learning. What you'll be doing

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor.
