Senior Budget and Supplier Engagement Manager

Summary:

In this role, you will oversee the organizational spend envelope, ensuring alignment not only with actuals and variance levels but also with spend ratios and industry benchmarks. You will provide decision support on supplier sourcing and agency engagement while delivering actionable financial analysis to guide leadership decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage annual budgets across departments or projects.

  • Monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with financial plans.

  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to leadership.

  • Support forecasting, financial modeling, and cost control initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations.

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.

  • Negotiate contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and manage supplier performance.

  • Provide strategic recommendations on supplier sourcing and agency engagement.

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to align financial and operational objectives.

  • Track performance against spend ratios and industry benchmarks to identify improvement opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred; advanced degree preferred.

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in budget management, financial planning and vendor relations required.

  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and present recommendations to leadership.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align financial discipline with operational goals.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with financial planning or ERP systems preferred.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $77,400.00 to $135,400.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
