Overview
Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Director Small Business Lending Operations. Primary Function: responsible for leading small business lending operations for the company which includes loans under $500K and all SBA loan volume. Engage in strategic planning and execution of business plans to achieve loan volume, quality, and growth objectives. Serve as a key point of contact and subject matter expert with key internal stakeholders, partners and vendors for all Small Business lending activity. Pay Range: $160,000-$200,000 + Annual Incenitves.
Responsibilities
- Build and mature small business lending operations capabilities to enable the business to scale.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in Small Business and SBA lending for the credit union; maintain expertise by staying abreast of industry trends and government requirements.
- Liaise with key stakeholders and internal partners (Sales leaders, Training partners, Product leaders, Risk, Compliance, etc.) as well as vendors to ensure optimal performance and production.
- Serve as a Senior leader for strategic planning, execution, representation and communication.
- Oversee small business lending operations, including loan applications from all channels in amounts up to $500K and all SBA loans to achieve loan volume, quality, and growth objectives.
- Engage in strategic planning, research, and implementation of new initiatives to streamline Small Business loan programs and enhance efficiency.
- Lead, manage and mentor team members to drive high quality performance and results.
- Evaluate and ensure appropriate policies, procedures, tools, and reporting are in place to support Small Business Lending.
- Manage key performance metrics to ensure that SLAs are consistently adhered to.
- Manage key vendor and partner relationships to ensure strong communication and combined performance for the benefit of our members.
- Monitor and manage the loan pipeline for timely processing and funding; act as the primary leader and process owner to ensure timely and high-quality loan closings.
- Oversee application status inquiries and issues, and manage correspondence among clients, Relationship Managers, operations, and Counsel.
- Drive consistency and accountability in the credit and loan onboarding process, prepare and issue commitment letters consistent with credit approval terms, and coordinate preparation of loan documentation and preclosing quality control.
- Partner with Finance and Accounting to facilitate the sale of SBA loans to the secondary market when appropriate.
- Work closely with Compliance, internal/external auditors and lending staff to ensure Credit Union policies, procedures, and federal regulations relating to small business lending are followed.
- Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years equivalent experience for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of experience Degree may not substitute for experience required
- Minimum 7 Years Commercial/business lending experience required
- Minimum 5 Years Leadership experience required
- Business credit analysis experience required
