Position Summary:

The Director of E-Commerce and Digital Marketing leads the strategy, development, and execution of innovative online marketing programs to maximize brand presence, elevate the consumer experience, and drive engagement across disease education and branded initiatives. This role oversees website strategy, digital content, SEO/SEM, medical education, and patient advocacy engagement-ensuring programs are both impactful and fully compliant. As a cross-functional leader, the Director translates insights into actionable strategies, cultivates partnerships with advocacy groups and key opinion leaders, and manages external agencies to deliver measurable results. With strong biopharma brand management expertise and digital fluency, this leader will shape the company's online presence and advance meaningful connections with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Leads the digital marketing strategy for consumer disease education and branded tactics.
  • Represents consumer, marketing, and merchandising point of view to identify new business/content opportunities and effectiveness of programs.
  • Manages the research, analysis, and monitoring of financial, technological and demographic factors, and designs marketing plans to capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Plans and implements marketing materials through online presence and oversight of creative agencies.
  • Leads and manages medical education activities such as webinars, peer to peer programs and patient/caregiver education seminars.
  • Manages patient advocacy societies and develops innovative engagement strategies.
  • Manages e-marketing strategies, disease awareness website and product website to optimize online marketing tools and programs.
  • Leads the strategy of search engine optimization (SEO)/search engine marketing (SEM) activities to drive engagement.
  • Monitors progress of plans and makes adjustments as necessary following in-depth analytics and ROI analysis.
  • Develops patient/caregiver brand plans and budget.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all medical legal review (MLR) processes are followed and all programs are compliant with legal guidance and corporate policies.
  • Develops strong external relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and leadership within patient advocacy societies.
  • Directs advertising tactics primarily utilizing digital and print media.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related; MBA highly preferred with emphasis Brand Management, Consumer Marketing or Consumer Market Research with a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience and advancement within pharmaceutical or biotech industry. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. A minimum of 6 years in a leadership role required. Neurology therapeutic experience preferred but not required. Previous experience in a product manager role preferred but not required.

Must possess:



  • Recent blockbuster brand experience, launch experience or major new indication launch experience.
  • Strong Biopharma brand management and demonstrated multi-channel digital expertise.
  • Experience forming online content partnerships, measuring web usage/trends and managing vendor relationships.
  • Experience building and developing a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience negotiating with business partners or management and influencing senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
  • Proficiency creating and communicating a clear vision among team members effectively aligning resources and activities to achieve functional area and/or organizational goals.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of time.


Physical Requirements:

This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication both in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedule or business needs.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.

Salary Range
$194,000 $243,500 USD
