Details

The State Hygienic Laboratory (Iowa's Environmental and Public Health Laboratory), at the University of Iowa, under contract with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services is looking for a Temporary Storekeeper in the Coralville, Iowa facility.

LOCATION: Coralville, IOWA

SCHEDULE: Tuesday - Thursday up to 20 hrs. (Hours will be discussed during the interview.)

PAY: $18.13 per hour

JOB DUTIES:



  • Operate postage machine and scale. Document the carrier that is used. U.S Mail, UPS, Fed Ex. Indicate address, costs, and charge the right account.
  • Prepare daily shipping reports and manifests for various shipping carriers. Sort and assign packages within postal regulations.
  • Process internal orders remove those items from stock, record inventory, and charge the appropriate account.
  • Maintain the appropriate inventory levels.
  • Use the appropriate procedures for shipping infectious substances according to federal and international regulations.
  • Organize, Prioritize, and assign work to meet various deadlines.
  • Perform functional supervision and training of student employees.
  • Perform other duties when needed.
  • Accept and sign for deliveries from carrier personal.
  • Describes laboratory procurement process for current work area.
  • Follows established inventory management processes, including receipt and inspection processes.
  • Supports the Supervisor with scheduling vehicles for use and service. Also includes fueling vehicles
  • Back up at the dock when needed.
  • Keep all required testing and training up to date.
  • Must have valid driver's license and meet UI Fleet Safety Driving Record Review Standards.
  • Adheres to safe work practices related to chemical hazards.
  • Adheres to policies, processes, and procedures regarding PPE use.
  • Displays professional demeanor in all situations with customers and stakeholders.
  • Identifies accounting codes assigned for laboratory services rendered.
  • Accesses electronic information on staff training, education, and capabilities.
  • Describes LIMS management processes.
  • Contributes to activities that support the mission, vision, and values of the laboratory.
  • Participates in communications with peers and supervisors regarding performance.
  • Complies with documented internal policies and guidelines.
  • Applies workflow processes according to laboratory policies, processes, and procedures.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:



  • Any combination of related clerical office experience related undergraduate education, and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to two years of full-time employment.
  • Ability to type 30 WPM with timely efficient, and accurate entries.


DESIRED QUALIFICATION:



  • Previous storekeeping, laboratory, and data entry experience.
