AW609 Avionics System Engineer

Responsibilities:

Accountable for system engineering task to demonstrate correct installation and functions of the design solutions for the avionics systems, cockpit display systems and aircraft sensors systems installed onboard the AW609 prototypes or production aircrafts, including execution of test procedures prior to flight and data analysis during and after the execution of the flights.

The Avionics System Engineer participates in system integration activities and identification of issues in the avionics systems design installed in the aircraft for either functional verification or compliance demonstration. This person supports submission to FAA of compliance documentation. This person jointly support with the AW609 Electrical and Avionics System Engineers within the design department the activities for execution of test procedure onboard the aircrafts, the data analysis and the demonstration of compliance for the various design solutions.

This person supports production discrepancies on Final Assembly Line and Experimental Operation aircrafts, as well as experimental flight testing telemetry.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering (advanced degree preferred).

Experience:

  • Two+ years of technical experience involved in design, test, and analysis of avionics components and systems for developmental aircraft including cockpit integration expertise.
  • Experience performing functional testing for integration and demonstration of correct installation onboard the aircrafts.
  • Experience in flight data analysis.
  • Experience in compliance demonstration for certification under FAA Part23, Part25 or Part29.

Competencies & Attributes:

  1. Sound knowledge of avionics component and system testing to show compliance to system and certification requirements.
  2. Practical experience of avionics installation onboard a fixed wing or rotary wing platform.
  3. Sound knowledge of avionics data bus, sensors for aerospace platforms.
  4. Knowledge of design techniques for system integrity and safety assurance, system separation, redundancy and the related implementation onboard the platform.
  5. Ability to use configuration control tools to promptly understand how a design solution represented in the design artifact as schematics and wiring is installed in the real aircraft
