Job Summary :

The Director of System Excellence and Operations is a strategic leader responsible for advancing organizational performance, optimizing operational systems, and enhancing the patient experience across the hospital. This role oversees process improvement initiatives, project management functions, and leadership development programs to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Experience Oversight

  • Champion initiatives that elevate patient satisfaction and engagement.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to streamline care delivery and service touchpoints.
  • Monitor and improve patient experience metrics in alignment with hospital goals.
  • Ensures timely, coordinated, and accurate submissions of experience data to regulatory programs including:
    • CMS
      • Inpatient Quality Reporting Program
      • Outpatient Quality Reporting Program
      • Value Based Purchasing Program
    • Additional Programs:
      • Anthem Scorecard
      • Leapfrog
      • Healthgrades
      • ACHC

2. Systems Excellence

  • Lead the implementation of performance excellence frameworks across departments.
  • Integrate Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure alignment of systems with strategic objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Implements and manages a comprehensive framework for performance excellence
  • Develops and executes strategies to integrate performance excellence principles into organizational processes

3. Process Improvement

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for process optimization.
  • Facilitate cross-functional improvement teams and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and accountability in operational practices.

4. Project Management

  • Oversee strategic and operational projects from initiation through execution.
  • Develop project charters, timelines, and resource plans in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Track progress, mitigate risks, and ensure timely delivery of project goals.

5. Leadership Development

  • Conduct annual training needs assessments and develop leadership development programs.
  • Mentor emerging leaders and support succession planning efforts.
  • Maintain internal communications to promote awareness of development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in hospital operations, performance improvement, or leadership development.
  • Proven track record in managing cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent preferred.

Interrelationships

  • Works closely with Management Council, Medical Staff, Department Directors, and Hospital Associates.
  • Serves as a key liaison between operational teams and executive leadership.
