The Procurement Excellence Center (PEC) is a strategic function dedicated to driving procurement transformation, operational efficiency, and value creation across the organization. Within the Procurement organization, the PEC establishes best practices, standardizes processes, and leverages advanced analytics and market intelligence to enable data-driven decision-making. The PEC collaborates with all Procurement teams to enhance capabilities, improve performance, and optimize costs. Key focus areas include market intelligence and analytics, digital procurement transformation, risk management, supplier relationship management, governance, and capability development.

Position Summary

The Manager, Procurement Services Master Data Management plays a critical role in driving data integrity, governance, and strategy within the procurement function. This position is responsible for overseeing the creation, maintenance, and accuracy of procurement-related master data, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide data standards and business objectives.

The Manager, Procurement Services Master Data Management leads a team to establish robust data governance frameworks, optimize data processes, and enhance the overall quality of procurement data. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Procurement, Finance, IT, and Supply Chain, to align data structures with business processes and enable data-driven decision-making.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a Services Master Data strategy that supports procurement excellence and enterprise-wide data governance, partnering with IT to improve data accuracy and reduce manual effort, establishing and enforcing data governance policies, and identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance data quality.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in data management and procurement, expertise in data governance frameworks, data quality management, and process automation, and the ability to lead high performing teams.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and Oakland.

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of thejob posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, and geographic location.The decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Pay Range:

Bay Area - $129,000 to $184,800

Reporting Relationship

The Manager, Procurement Services Master Data will report to the Sr. Manager, Governance & Best Practices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Implements strategies and initiatives to enhance procurement data management maturity, supporting broader company objectives.
  • Establishes and enforces procurement master data standards, taxonomies, and naming conventions and drives data design and integrity across procurement platforms.
  • Manages enhancements to master data workflows and MDM tools in partnership with IT.
  • Translates business requirements into actionable data management initiatives, ensuring alignment with procurement and enterprise goals.
  • Supports the execution of foundational data maturity activities identified in the Procurement Master Data Management and Enterprise Data Management program strategies.
  • Manages and delivers data quality improvement initiatives that enable risk-informed, data-driven decision-making.
  • Communicates updates and developments related to data governance, management, and integrity to enhance the company's data literacy.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships cross-functionally and within Procurement to understand business requirements, resolve issues, and improve customer outcomes.
  • Identifies, defines and escalates issues related to data security, data access, data ownership, and data governance policy, standards, and procedures. Ensures data-related issues and risks are appropriately surfaced and resolved.
  • Manages and supports a team of master data professionals.

Background Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or job-related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 8 years of relevant job experience
  • Leadership experience

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Supply Chain, or job-related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of data management best practices, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., SOX)

  • Prior experience working with ERP systems (i.e., SAP) and procurement platforms (i.e., Ariba).
