Inventory Control & Receiving Specialist Location: Houston, Texas, 77053
Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about logistics and inventory management? Join our team as an Inventory Control & Receiving Specialist, where you'll be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, verifying materials, and maintaining accurate inventory records to support smooth and efficient operations. Key Responsibilities * Receive, unpack, and verify incoming shipments; inspect for damage or discrepancies. * Tag and identify parts for internal and external jobs using color cones and proper labeling. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse areas, including overstock and external storage. * Route materials to appropriate departments using hand trucks or sorting bins. * Communicate with carriers regarding delivery arrangements and resolve any issues. * Update bin locations and ensure accurate recordkeeping in ERP systems. * Conduct inventory counts and cycle checks; report shortages or discrepancies. * Collaborate with the Bill of Materials Coordinator to ensure correct parts are pulled for jobs. * Issue parts to production and manage excess inventory. * Assist with physical inventory preparation and perform stock checks as needed. Required Qualifications * High School Diploma, GED, or Technical School Degree. * Minimum 3 years of experience in a receiving/inventory role. * Valid U.S. Driver's License with a clean driving record. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel). * Experience with ERP systems such as SAGE or SITELINE. * Basic math skills and strong attention to detail. Preferred Skills * Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. * Advanced ERP system knowledge. * Familiarity with warehouse safety and compliance standards. Physical Requirements * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally (with assistance). * Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, and use of hands. * Visual acuity including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Work Environment * Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. * Noise levels vary from moderate (office) to loud (warehouse or customer site). * Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
