PLS Transmission Line Engineer
Location: Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC (100% On-Site)
Schedule: 9/80 with 30-Day Work-from-Home Policy
Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time

Approximate Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000

Yoh is hiring on behalf of a leading EPC firm for a Staff Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to join their growing Transmission & Distribution practice in the Southeast. This role is ideal for engineers with consulting backgrounds and strong expertise in overhead transmission line design. Core Engineering Responsibilities

  • Execute advanced overhead transmission line design using PLS-CADD, including routing, structure analysis, sag-tension, swing angle, and wire blowout studies
  • Generate structure spotting, clearance reports, and damper recommendations
  • Select wire types and prepare detailed specifications for construction, hardware, and materials
  • Design structures and hardware; oversee field installations
  • Produce construction drawings and cost estimates


Leadership & Technical Oversight
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development
  • Lead quality reviews and serve as technical lead on projects
  • Opportunity to grow into a client-facing leadership role managing engineering teams


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • 4+ years of transmission design experience (utility experience credited at 70%)
  • Proficient in PLS-CADD; PLS-POLE and other Power Line Systems tools preferred
  • EIT or PE license strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills


Compensation Package Includes base salary, annual bonus, ESOP, and 401(k)

Estimated Min Rate: $90000.00
Estimated Max Rate: $110000.00
