Position Description:


* Install, maintain, and troubleshoot food processing equipment, motors, starters, etc. Support the production process by reducing equipment down through accurate and effective trouble shooting. Must be able to work under pressure and make repairs in a timely manner.


Job Specific Competencies:


* Skilled Electrician with experience diagnosing electrical circuits and PLC's. Qualified candidates will have previous experience working in a maintenance department in a manufacturing process. Experience installing and troubleshooting electrical components required. Knowledge of sanitary welding techniques. 10+ years of relevant maintenance experience. Please provide specific detail of relevant experience.


Education and Certifications:


* HS Diploma and demonstrated ability to perform assigned tasks. Welding and electrical training/certification.


Physical Requirements:


Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, to work in a cold environment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds. Able to work in a cold environment (35* on Plant floor). (Notification required due to the Americans with Disabilities Act).


Work Hour Requirements:


* Ability to work overtime including weekends & holidays as required.

Required Skills

Skills we are looking for!


* Maintain and operate Hayssen packaging equipment or equivalent. Troubleshooting and repairs of Ishida & Yamato scales


* Must have excellent electrical skills including PLC's, control circuits, and ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.


* Complete knowledge of conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and the ability to successfully maintain equipment.


* Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and operate chlorine and ammonia systems


* Install 460V motors, starters, and disconnects


* Install and troubleshoot control circuits, panels, and program PLC's


* Experienced with HVAC systems


* Understanding of 1000CFM air compressor systems, including air dryers


* TIG/MIG/Stick weld stainless steel in a sanitary environment


* Project management/supervision experience


* Excellent electrical circuit troubleshooting skills


* Proficient using a test meter and megohmmeter


* Safety training/certifications


* Perform preventative maintenance on process equipment


* Must be able to work flexible hours.


* Minimum of 8-10 years of qualified maintenance experience


* Employee must adhere to all policies, practices, and SOP's related to producing Safe Quality Food (SQF)


* Ensure the integrity and continued operation of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities


* Support special projects and other duties as assigned

Required Experience

Experience we are looking for!



  • Understands single and 3 phase electrical theory
  • Knowledge of electrical code and can use a NFPA manual
  • Plan, bend, and install conduit following code
  • Install panels single phase and 3 phase panels
  • Trouble shoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems.
  • Knows how to pull and install large/small wires/cable.
  • Understands basic contactor control circuits
  • Willing to learn new things and take on more responsibility.
  • Knowledge of general facility maintenance
