Job Description: Sr. Quality Manager Huntsman is seeking a Sr. Quality Manager supporting the ADMAT Division located in McIntosh, Alabama. This position will report to the Site Manager. Job Scope This position is a critical member of the McIntosh Site Leadership team. The primary function of this role is to be a Leader and Drive Vision for:
- Zero Defect Culture Creation for the Site and Department
- Aerospace qualification understanding and influence
- Statistical Tools implementation related to SPC/SQC and materials statistical equivalency
- Building Customer Relationships that become Partnerships
- Quality Incident Investigations(internal and external)often finding solutions with incomplete data
- Eliminating FOD
In summary, as the Sr. Quality Manager, you will: For the appropriate candidate with relevant depth of experience. In addition to culture and leadership drive, the Quality Manager is responsible for site quality functions as described. Prioritized Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Manage and ensure the safe and efficient operation of the A&QC labs on a continuous basis.
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) for the site
- Monitor expenses for conformance to budget.
- Manage the professional development of Chemist staff.
- Oversee the quality of the lab operations.
- Coordinate local quality systems with regional and global quality systems.
- Responsible to perform annual site Management Reviews
- Implement modern best practices in QC methods work under leadership of Regional QC.
- Perform statistical analysis and provide guidance to production and product management on aerospace qualifications.
- Maintain statistical quality control program for the plant.
- Responsible for leading on-site internal, customer and 3rd party audits and working with the site to close out action requests.
- Promote quality and continuous improvement culture.
- Assist product management with the development of achievable product specifications using statistical analysis.
- Work with site to investigate and ensure that quality issues/complaints are analyzed and resolved with an understanding that timeliness and accuracy is critical to business.
- Monitor the site to ensure it is complying with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Manage and lead staffing and talent management of Quality team members.
- Partake in site specific customer calls.
- Serve as a member of the Material Review Board (MRB) to ensure timely and effective resolution of materials.
- Responsible for reviewing and updating the site quality documents to ensure compliance with the ISO/AS Quality Standards
- Share Quality Learnings, successes, and best practices at the site.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by manager.
Qualifications You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science, Chemistry (or related field) plus 5+ years of Laboratory Experience.
- 10+ years of Experience under a Chemical manufacturing environment.
Skills and knowledge
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100. Quality Lead Auditor experience and certification required (ISO9001).
- In depth knowledge of analytical chemistry.
- Experience in managing laboratory information systems including database management and reporting.
- Statistics and application of statistical principles in quality control and with dispute resolution.
- Must work independently in a team-oriented environment. Must be comfortable leading without having direct management of team members.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities and projects.
- Requires strong writing and advanced computer skills including database management and report generation (MS Office).
- Displays positive interpersonal skills including good presentation and public speaking skills.
- This position may require some involvement with materials regulated under the Resource conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). This involvement may require an understanding of applicable rules and procedures associated with RCRA wastes. A combination of training methods, e.g., computer-based training, classroom, and/or on-the-job training, will be provided prior to any such involvement with RCRA regulated wastes.
