Job Description

Position: Human Resources Generalist

Primary Location: Mooresville, NC

Reports To: Manager, Human Resources Business Partner

Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 + bonus, + benefits (salaried, exempt)

The range shown reflects the targeted pay scale for new hires. Actual pay within the range depends on work location and factors such as skills, experience, and education. Specific salary details can be discussed during the hiring process. Posted compensation reflects base salary only and excludes bonuses, benefits, 401K contributions, and other incentives.

About This Role and You

Chemtrade is excited to offer a new opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist ("HRG") to join our team. The HRG will act as a proactive partner with leaders in a recently acquired business unit within our expanding Water business. The HRG will support all HR programs/processes/policies/initiatives, including employee engagement, performance, discipline and retention within this business unit. In addition, this role will provide HR support for the entire Water business and collaborate with the HR Centers of Excellence to ensure that efficient, timely and productive HR services are being provided to all Water employees.

Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree in related field is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources, or related experience.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate and connect with employees.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Good Administrative skills.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Verbal and written English language skills.
  • Ability to act independently and take initiative.

Responsibilities

  • The HRG is responsible for handling all HR programs/processes/policies/initiatives for the business unit, with support from the Manager HRBP, including performance management, succession planning, and compensation.
  • The HRG supports all activities aimed at improving employee engagement within the business unit, including conducting listening sessions, stay interviews, engagement surveys, exit interviews, presentations etc.
  • The HRG assists with Company efforts to support diversity, inclusion and psychological safety through programs/practices/policies/training and events.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for employees in this business unit and responds or redirects employee queries.
  • Supports and/or conducts employee workplace investigations, with guidance from the Manager HRBP and/or the Director of Employment/Labor Law & HRBPs.
  • Assists with timely gathering of data, preparation of presentations and proposals in connection with preparation for, and conducting of, negotiations at our unionized Water sites.
  • Supports ongoing union relations at certain Water sites, including support of the Manager HRBP in responding to grievances, responding to union requests for information, and assisting with updating CBA language.
  • With guidance from the Manager HRBP, supports business unit leaders in addressing employee performance, discipline, corrective action notices, safety, and assists in maintaining electronic employee files.
  • Supports and/or conducts training of business unit employees on topics such as how to maintain a Respectful Workplace.
  • Assists with communication of HR-related information to employees, including posting and/or creating content for the site TV communication system.
  • Collaborates with HR Centers of Excellence to ensure that efficient, timely and productive service is being provided, including assisting with payroll issues, leave administration, reasonable accommodations, and the onboarding process.
  • Partners with the recruitment team and the business to ensure that staffing needs are being addressed in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that up-to-date employment and labor posters are posted at the sites within the business unit.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager, HRBP, and/or the Director, Employment/Labor Law & HRBPs.
