OverviewAt Microsoft, the Security Commercial Solutions Area (CSA) is dedicated to helping organizations of all sizes confidently transition to the cloud and modernize their platforms. We deliver the security solutions, expertise, and services needed to protect data and applications. We're seeking a passionate and experienced security leader to join us as a Customer Security Officer (CSO) supporting top customers across Enterprise and Industry segments, with a focus on the United States State, Local, and Education sectors. As a CSO, you will serve as a trusted advisor to Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and executive boards. You'll represent Microsoft's security vision and solutions, building strong relationships and understanding each customer's short- and long-term security needs. Your guidance will help enhance their security posture and ensure Microsoft's offerings align with their business goals. You will be part of the Corporate Vice President's extended leadership team, contributing to security strategy and enabling leadership across the organization. You'll help shape account strategies, foster trust with CISOs, and lead strategic engagements. You'll also participate in industry forums, sharing insights on security, privacy, and regulatory requirements-positioning Microsoft as a leader in cybersecurity. In this role, you will advocate for your customers within Microsoft's Go-to-Market teams, influencing product development and strategic investments based on customer feedback and evolving industry trends. You'll collaborate globally, supporting colleagues across regions. While based in your local area, you can expect up to 25% travel, including occasional international trips. You'll work cross-functionally with customer account teams, service delivery teams, public sector and industry teams, legal and corporate affairs, product engineering, Microsoft Security Partners, and the Digital Crimes Unit to drive key business priorities and outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesPartner with area sales leadership and account teams in developing long term strategic plansfor key win accounts in your area. Engage with customer C-suite executive with Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) beingthe primary role, to understand their strategic objectives. Develop and nurture trustedadvisor relationships helping CISO mature their security program by establishing thefoundation for quality of platform security program architecture leveraging industryframeworks and standards. Develop strategic, operational, and tactical recommendations tailored to each customer withthe intent of improving customer security posture and compliance position, aligned withtheir business goals and risk tolerance. Monitor and analyze emerging security trends, share insights with customers as well as our area leadership and guiding them through the potential impacts on their industry. Be the trusted Security partner between Microsoft and our strategic customers in developing,implementing, and executing on their security priorities, driving customer intent to buy andpost sales deployment. Advise, coach and train the area leadership on MS security solution value proposition andpositioning. Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting area leaders on securityconversations in executive forums as CISO roundtables, etc. In alignment with Microsoft's key priorities, establish customers' security strategy and ensureexecution of said strategy with key C-suite customer stakeholders. Lead Security presentations, demonstrations, and workshops in Industry forums to providethought leadership on Microsoft's Security portfolio. Develop and maintain industry expertise: The Customer Security Officer will stay up to datewith the latest developments and advancements in security including new tech, competitors,and internal product and services offerings.
