The Duke Toxicology Program at the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Division (OEM) provides toxicological evaluations and risk assessments for potentially hazardous substances in consumer and commercial arts and craft product formulations. These evaluations include an assessment for regulatory compliance against federal, state, and international laws regulating consumer product hazard labeling and worker hazard communication. Our work directly contributes to public safety by ensuring product compliance and reducing exposure to hazardous substances. The evaluation process utilizes a Toxicology Database Management System (DMS). The DMS is an internally developed computerized expert system that applies toxicological risk assessment paradigms to produce confidential reports to clients. The DMS requires accurate input of qualitative and quantitative product information. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The Programming Analyst will play a key role in the development and quality assurance of our Toxicology Database Management System (DMS) and other programming projects. Education Work requires a Bachelor's degree in mathematics or a computer-related field, or equivalent coursework or technical training. Experience Work requires one year of programming or analytical experience with knowledge of several computer languages, programs, or systems. Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $ 59,829.00 to USD $104,550.00.
