Responsibilities

The Global Health and Financial Solutions team is seeking an experienced AWS Software Engineer to lead the design and development of cloud-native applications that support United States Medicare beneficiaries. As a key member of our agile team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining front-end and back-end components, APIs, and scalable cloud solutions. This role requires a collaborative, customer-focused engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is committed to delivering high-quality solutions and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

    Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Design and develop web applications, APIs, and user interfaces using AWS services, Java, JavaScript, React (or similar technologies), and Amazon databases such as RDS and DynamoDB.
  • Lead architectural strategy, including migration and hosting of applications on AWS.
  • Conduct requirements analysis, software design, development, testing, and debugging of custom solutions.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines to enable automated deployments to AWS.
  • Document technical specifications in Confluence, manage work using Jira, and collaborate via Slack.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to leverage platform capabilities, templates, and improve application performance.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.
  • Actively contribute to agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Manage diverse tasks, including both small projects and development assignments.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 8 years with Bachelors, 6 years with Masters or 3 years with PhD in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • Experience developing software applications on AWS
  • Experience with Spring Boot
  • Experience with AWS Database, such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB
  • Very Strong Java skills and experience required
  • Experience with program languages and technologies including Groovy, Python, Bash, Go, Markdown, XML, JSON, SQL, ReactJS, CSS, XHTML
  • 3 years of experience in designing, implementing and consuming CI/CD Pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Groovy, Ansible, SonarQube or similar toolsets
  • Demonstrated experience building and implementing APIs on AWS
  • Experience using GitHub, Jira, Confluence, TestRail
  • Experience building, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise applications while maintaining 24/7 availability
  • Active AWS Certified Developer - Associate or AWS Solution Architect - Associate Certification
  • US Citizenhip Required
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
