As a Coperion Field Service Technician, you'll deliver exceptional customer service by diagnosing equipment issues and implementing effective solutions. Operating at our clients' locations, you will be responsible for preventive maintenance, servicing, installation, and providing training to customers, all aimed at ensuring their satisfaction.

Sign-on Bonus: $3,000 (Paid after 90 days)

Location: Can be home-based anywhere within US with the requirement of being within 1 hour of an international airport.

Travel: This role requires extensive travel of 70%+ which includes domestic, international and extended trips lasting 1-3 weeks. (Per Diem, Company Credit Card, Paid Travel Expenses.)

Work You'll Do:

  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues through troubleshooting, servicing, and preventative maintenance, maximizing system uptime and performance.

  • Oversee and coordinate subcontractors to ensure timely, efficient on-site services.

  • Maintain detailed service records, ensuring accurate documentation of all work performed and timely reporting.

  • Promote inspections, upgrades, equipment rebuilds, and parts replacements to optimize customer operations.

  • Collaborate with customers remotely and on-site to identify challenges and deliver effective technical solutions.

  • Communicate professionally with customers to build trust, clarify issues, and ensure satisfaction.

  • Support installation and commissioning activities, including calibration and initial setup of weighing and feeding systems.

  • Assist with service report preparation, creating comprehensive documentation for internal and customer use.

  • Be flexible to work across varied shifts, weekends, and respond to short-notice service requests.

  • Travel extensively (up to 70%) across North America and internationally, supporting customer systems and projects.

Team

  • The Field Service Technician will be part of the Aftermarket Service team and report directly to the Senior Manager of Field Service Support.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in field service or product inspection, preferably with weighing and feeding systems, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.

  • Strong safety awareness combined with a high level of mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.

  • Proficiency with PLC systems, including the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team and engage constructively with customers, sales representatives (both internal and external), engineering teams, and contractors.

  • Excellent computer skills, with strong organizational skills and effective communication (both verbal and written).

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, often on short notice, with flexibility to travel up to 70% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with: HMI (Human Machine Interface), Wonderware using RS Logics 5000, CompactLogix Processor/Allen-Bradley, RSView, ControlLogix, RS Logics 500, Omron PLC/HMI, and related systems.

  • Knowledge of computer networking, Ethernet IP, Devicenet, RS232 communications, and motor drive technologies such as AC/DC Drives and VFDs.
