Position Summary

As a Staff Accountant II you are responsible for various activities in the Corporate Accounting team. In this role you will perform accounting activities including journal entries and account reconciliations; participation in the monthly closing process for assigned tasks; and special projects as requested. You will be expected to help identify opportunities to improve internal controls, process flows, communication, and effectiveness of accounting area.



This is a hybrid role with the requirement of working onsite at our Mentor, OH Corporate HQ, 3 days a week.

What You'll do as a Staff Accountant II

  • Perform accounting activities including journal entries, account reconciliations and daily maintenance and analysis of assigned accounts.
  • Conduct account analysis and review for balance sheets and profit and loss.
  • Participate in the monthly closing process for assigned tasks.
  • Monthly responsibility for assigned general accounting accounts, including analyzing activity.
  • Monthly responsibility for assigned intercompany subsidiaries, including analyzing and balancing intercompany activity.
  • Assist in the quarterly deferred revenue process.
  • Assist with acquisitions and mergers with financial account analysis and input entries.
  • Track and account for prepaid expenses and prepares and maintains amortization schedules for monthly account reconciliations.
  • Communicate and interact with other business departments and foreign entities to assist in the identification and implementation of accounting issues.
  • Special projects as required and other duties as assigned.
  • Research and document accounting issues. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current GAAP requirements and incorporate these requirements into accounting activities.
  • Assist in gathering information for audits.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 2 years of corporate accounting experience in addition to degree requirement.



Preferred:



  • Experience in Oracle, Cognos, CoStar Real Estate Manager and Blackline.
  • Experience with merger, acquisition, and divestiture activity.



Other:



  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of current GAAP requirements related to responsibilites and incorporates these requirements into accounting activities and related decisions.
  • Demostrate proficiency in Microsoft Office suit (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to effectively analyze accounting information and financial results for accuracy and completeness.
  • Process oriented with strong attention to detail and organized.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Pay range for this opportunity is$67,362.50-$87,175.00.This position is eligible forbonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
