What to Expect

Tesla has an opportunity for an IT Manufacturing Data Technician at its Fremont, CA location. This team supports everything from cable repairs to the build out of new production related areas. This team is also responsible for the mounting and installation of cameras, TVs and AV equipment. The factory floor is a fast paced environment, they collaborate closely with multiple teams to complete requests while not impacting production. They are a vital part of the IT Manufacturing organization and help support Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.


What You'll Do
  • Review and complete work orders to move, change, install, repair, or remove data communications equipment and cabling
  • Measure, cut, and install wires and cables
  • Splice wires or cables
  • Disassemble equipment and inspects and tests wiring to locate and repair problem
  • Test communication lines to ensure that specifications are met
  • Read messages on computer screen to verify that data is being transmitted between locations according to specifications
  • Plan layout and installation of data communications equipment and cabling
  • Demonstrate use of equipment
  • Follow Division 27 communications standards

What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years troubleshooting Network installation, cabling and configuration
  • 3+ years triaging and repairing data center fiber optic cabling/systems and network hardware
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and overtime
  • Able to climb 12 ft. ladder
  • Able to sit, stand, kneel and/or walk for long periods of time
  • This position also has a physical component requiring the ability to lift & rack equipment up to 50lbs; it may require working in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines

    Expected Compensation
    $41.53 - $60.70/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
