About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and highly hands-on Head of Email Marketing to lead our email programs and lifecycle journeys. Based in Philadelphia, this role will own the full email channel - from data strategy to journey design to delivery - leveraging the Salesforce ecosystem, with a strong focus on Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Data Cloud.

This is a pivotal role for a B2B digital marketing leader with a deep understanding of data-driven email marketing, segmentation, and customer behavior. You'll build high-performing campaigns that engage our customers, influence decision-makers, and deliver measurable results across the customer lifecycle.

Collaboration is critical - you will work cross-functionally with sales, sales op, IT, marketing and design teams to deliver personalized, scalable campaigns that support growth and align to broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute the B2B email marketing strategy, ensuring all programs support pipeline generation, lead nurturing, onboarding, and customer retention.
  • Own the full email lifecycle including planning, segmentation, personalization, testing, execution, and reporting.
  • Build, deploy, and optimize journeys using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including:
    • Journey Builder
    • Email Studio
    • Automation Studio
    • Audience Builder
    • Contact Builder
    • Content Builder
    • Marketing Cloud Intelligence
    • Einstein AI and Einstein Copilot
    • AMPscript (or similar)
  • Use Salesforce Data Cloud to design intelligent segmentation strategies based on account data, behavioral signals, and intent.
  • Champion a data-first, customer-centric approach to messaging, with personalized content tailored to role, industry, and buying stage.
  • Develop and run a robust A/B and multivariate testing program to optimize open rates, CTAs, conversion rates, and engagement.
  • Ensure all emails meet high standards for design, accessibility, and deliverability.
  • Partner with content and design teams to create compelling B2B content tailored to key industries and personas.
  • Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance, deriving insights to inform future strategy.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, CRM, and analytics teams to ensure email programs align to GTM priorities and pipeline goals.
  • Maintain governance and compliance with data privacy regulations


Required Experience & Skills

Must-Have:
  • 5-8+ years of hands-on B2B email marketing experience, ideally in SaaS, technology, or distribution.
  • Proven hands-on experience building campaigns within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including journey creation, AMPscript, dynamic content, and automation tools.
  • Experience using Salesforce Data Cloud for audience segmentation and real-time personalization.
  • Strong knowledge of email design best practices, HTML/CSS for email, and responsive design.
  • Experience driving performance improvements through testing, analytics, and conversion optimization.
  • Familiarity with lead scoring, nurturing, and sales funnel concepts.
  • Experience managing end-to-end email production, including list hygiene, deliverability, and compliance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate business needs into marketing strategies.
  • Comfortable working in data-heavy, highly matrixed B2B environments with long sales cycles and multiple personas.

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Account-Based Marketing (ABM) campaigns.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM, Pardot (Account Engagement), or related platforms.
  • Understanding of B2B buying behaviors across different industries (e.g., corporate, healthcare, education, AV).
  • Experience managing or mentoring a team , or working with external partners or freelancers.
