Job Description

Visa is seeking a passionate, authentic, dynamic and results-oriented leader to join the Global Sales and Commercial Operations (GSCO) team as theSeniorDirector, Sales Data Architect & Governance. The GSCO Team is responsible for managing sales tools and data, and we're looking for a senior leader to define, govern, and optimize our Sales data ecosystem spanning Sales, Service, and Marketing segments. You will serve as a strategic bridge, collaborating with business stakeholders and partnering closely with our Technical Data Architect team to design, implement, and enforce data standards that align with technology and enterprise priorities.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed, highly technical leader with first-hand experience in the full stack of modern data tools and techniques. You must have proven leadership skills and the ability to build and foster networks across Sales, Technology, and the broader Visa organization.

This is a people leadership role involving collaboration with key stakeholders across Sales, Technology and the broader business to understand data needs, identify improvements, and execute a roadmap to build a world-class function.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the translation of sales vision into a world-class data and end state architecture, including leading data stewardship across Sales tools and partner platforms (e.g., managing data definitions, cleansing, deduplication, and establishing standard practices).
  • Serve as Data Steward for Sales, enforcing data quality, integrity, and governance through policies, metrics, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Data Architecture team to design and document data models, integration flows, and pipelines as single sources of truth across product and business functions (e.g., product, marketing, sales, service, service, finance, customer experience).
  • Evaluate and integrate tooling (e.g., data governance platforms) to ensure fit-for-purpose stewardship.
  • Support cross-functional alignment by guiding business users on consistent data entry, usage, and definitions
  • Partner with data scientists and stakeholders to gather requirements, design scalable data pipelines, and monitor performance to meet business objectives and handle growing data volumes
  • Implement and oversee customer data governance policies to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance across the organization.
  • Identify process optimization opportunities and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance Customer Data Management efficiency.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • Data-oriented thinking required
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a STEM field
  • 10+ years as a data engineer building core datasets and supporting business verticals as needed. Passionate about analytics use cases, data models and solving complex data problems.
  • Proven expertise in CRM platforms (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP CRM) and associated integration technologies.
  • Experience working on multi-stakeholder initiatives, focused on improving the customer experience.
  • Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills in a global, matrixed environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to build and lead integrated teams from various internal and external organizations across multiple sites
  • Proven self-starter and continuously gather and synthesize high-impact needs from business partners, designing and implementing the appropriate data solutions, and effectively communicating about deliverables, timelines and tradeoffs.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills, including the ability to synthesize complex and technical information into clear recommendations and courses of actions
  • Enjoys asking the next question and searching for deeper knowledge about everything
  • A team player and collaborator, works well with a diverse group of individuals in a matrixed environment
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 191,700 to 332,950 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
