Overview

We're looking for a CONSTRUCTION PROJECT CONTROLS SPECIALIST to join our dynamic team in our Melbourne office. Most work will be completed on site at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The detail-oriented Construction Project Controls Specialist will support the on-site project team for a major construction project. This role is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the project's cost, schedule, and progress to ensure successful execution in alignment with contractual requirements and company standards. The role works closely with project managers, field engineers, subcontractors, and corporate teams to provide accurate, timely, and actionable project control data.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cost Control & Forecasting

* Maintain and update project cost reports, including committed costs, actuals, and forecast-to-complete.
* Support the development and management of project budgets and cost baselines.
* Track change orders, variations, and cost impacts in coordination with the project management team.
* Provide regular cash flow forecasts and variance analysis.

Schedule Management

* Assist in developing and maintaining the project schedule using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
* Monitor schedule performance and identify deviations from baseline plans.
* Coordinate with construction and subcontractor teams to update progress and milestones.
* Provide schedule impact analyses for changes, delays, or disruptions.

Progress Measurement & Reporting

* Implement and maintain progress measurement systems for engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
* Collect, verify, and analyze field progress data to ensure accuracy.
* Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports, dashboards, and KPIs for management and stakeholders.
* Support earned value management (EVM) reporting where applicable.

Risk & Change Management

* Track and report project risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans.
* Support change management by assessing schedule and cost impacts.
* Maintain logs for RFIs, change orders, and claims.

Coordination & Compliance

* Work closely with site managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure accurate data collection.
* Ensure all project controls processes align with company procedures and contractual obligations.
* Support audits and reviews by providing documented evidence of cost and schedule control.



Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* 3+ years of experience in project controls for large-scale construction projects.
* Proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6 preferred) and cost control tools.
* Strong Excel skills and familiarity with database/reporting systems.
* Knowledge of earned value management principles.
* Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
* Experience working in an on-site project environment is preferred.
* Familiarity with construction contracts (lump sum, GMP, cost-plus) is preferred.
* Certification such as PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), CCP (Certified Cost Professional), or equivalent is preferred.
* Experience utilizing Procore is preferred.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel and Outlook (current BRPH version).

Must have good human relations skills, including the ability to effectively direct and relate to other people positively.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
