The Role: This Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating successful and meaningful experiences for individuals & organizations who engage with Harvesters through volunteering and community events, thereby strengthening their relationship with Harvesters and building a greater understanding of our mission. This is the lead coordinator responsible for volunteer recruitment and coordinates logistics for special volunteer events. You will increase food and funds raised through drives by coordinating all logistics, including cultivating donor relationships, stewardship of food drive donors, implementing virtual food drives and keeping food drive volunteers and staff informed. This position also serves as tour guide and hunger education coordinator for individuals, schools and organizations to increase hunger awareness and Harvesters' brand.

This position's normal work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday regular business hours, occasional additional weekend and evening hours may be required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with online database systems (e.g., CERVIS or other CRM platforms)
  • Collaborative mentality with a willingness to support team goals and adapt to changing needs
  • Flexibility to work additional evenings and weekends as needed
  • High School education or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Background in nonprofit operations, volunteer management, and fundraising is highly desirable.
  • Experience in public speaking, leading tours, and representing an organization at events
  • Ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences, including donors, volunteers, and community members
