JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Performs or supervises and coordinates the activities of others who execute the work of maintaining, repairing, and cleaning the physical structures of the organization's facilities, vehicles and grounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Returns phone calls and e-mails within 24 hours and updating voicemail/out of office e-mail, as well as consistently using pleasant tone and having a helpful attitude.

  • Selects, evaluates, counsels, and trains staff. Offers remedial training and education to staff and applies discipline when indicated in a timely manner after seeking consultation with Housing and Facilities Director and Human Resources. Reviews staff timesheets, expense reports and leave requests/balances for compliance, completeness and accuracy. Provides accurate, constructive feedback to staff on an ongoing and timely basis. Conducts team meetings every other month. Provides minimum of monthly supervision to direct reports and documents performance and development feedback on supervision note. Meets more frequently with staff needing additional direction or support. Completes all performance appraisals and reviews all plans for improvement by deadlines.

  • Performs or supervises structural and cosmetic repairs and modifications to Center facilities and furnishings.

  • Inspects the completed work of contractors or employees engaged in grounds maintenance and vehicle repair activities for conformance with applicable specifications and standards.

  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies associated with facilities management.

  • Establishes and adjusts work procedures and schedules of supervised staff to best meet completion time frames.

  • Maintains time and work records in accordance with Center policy and procedures.

  • Provides the Housing and Facilities Director with an annual plan for replacement and repair of equipment, vehicles and structures.

  • Procures competitive bids for services requiring contractors to perform the work of maintaining, repairing or cleaning Center facilities, vehicles and grounds.

  • Oversees all activities of staff and vendors using or repairing Center security cameras, recorders, and emergency devices.

  • Interprets Center policies to supervised staff and enforces safety regulations.

  • Confers with and coordinates facilities related activities of Center programs.

  • Actively participates in the Health and Safety Committee and assures Center compliance with all facility and vehicle related sections of NFPA 101 standards and requirements and other external regulatory bodies.

  • Presents relevant information for the purpose of assuring quality of care, gaining feedback, and planning changes in provision of services to internal and external customers. Identifies and reports all Critical Incidents according to Centerstone's policy.

  • Maintains confidentiality of consumers as well as any and all information considered sensitive to Centerstone's operations.

  • Utilizes supervisor, clinical on-call and Ethics Review team appropriately and when indicated/required.

  • Attends and actively participates in appropriate or required staff meetings, whether program, organization-wide, or ad hoc. Utilizes meetings to offer creative solutions and promote consumer personal growth.

  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines and codes, agency policies and procedures, and Federal and state laws pertaining to position

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level

High School Diploma or equivalent Must also have at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in an institutional or business setting. Experience with budget preparation, vendor selection and monitoring is preferred. Position also requires the ability to utilize necessary computer hardware and software including a working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office suite and must have basic understanding of database applications.

Years of Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and vehicle or facility maintenance is required.
  • Must also have at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in an institutional or business setting.
  • Experience with budget preparation, vendor selection and monitoring is preferred. Position also requires the ability to utilize necessary computer hardware and software including a working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office suite and must have basic understanding of database applications.
