Job Description

Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) is a world-class organization responsible for growing all payment flows between businesses and governments, from SMBs to the largest global corporations. The Core Products and Platforms team (LMM and SMB) is part of VCS and works closely with financial institutions and Fintechs to bring payment solutions that meet the needs of growing corporates, large enterprises, multinationals, governments, public sector entities, and small businesses around the world. The team is responsible for the product development and management of a suite of products, encompassing core products such as Fleet, Travel, Purchasing, Virtual Cards, Small Business, as well as new B2B payment offerings and emerging verticals such as Employee Benefits, providing innovative payment capabilities that exceed client expectations.

The Director, B2B Payments Product Management is responsible for the development and launch of a highly strategic network solution designed to capture new B2B spend and displace legacy payment methods such as EFT, Check, ACH, and Wire. This next-generation network will deliver differentiated value through a set of integrated components that address client pain points and unlock new use cases.

This role will lead the creation, refinement and articulation of the product strategy and key value propositions, concept evaluation and development, solution design, business

requirements, build/buy/partner identification, commercialization, POC->MVP->Pilot implementations, go-to-market activities, and execute flawlessly on critical milestones to deliver Visa's new solution to market.

The ideal candidate is an experienced senior product leader with the ability to inspire and motivate teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. He or she must have proven experience in developing and leading teams to commercialize innovative products that deliver substantial value propositions to the market. This role requires strategic leadership, innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. The candidate is creative and hands-on, has a bias towards action and is able to inspire others with their vision.

A candidate with proven experience delivering network-based platform technology solutions-alongside value-added software capabilities-will bring exceptional value to this role. The candidate should also bring experience in designing and validating new payment constructs, conducting feasibility assessments across global markets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define scalable architecture and go-to-market strategies. Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies, as well as a strong track record of engaging cross-functional technology teams, will be critical to ensuring successful execution of Visa's product roadmap and scalable commercialization of our B2B solutions.

This role requires breadth and depth of knowledge and experience in commercial or B2B payments. Success in this role will require deep familiarity with B2B payment ecosystems, including working capital optimization, technology integrations, and the end-to-end procure-to-pay process. In addition to traditional product management experience, the ideal candidate will have prior experience with Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable systems and/or ERP platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Strategy and Development:

  • Define the overall B2B product vision and strategic goals
  • Develop product narratives and key value propositions
  • Define and prioritize product features and evaluate build vs buy vs. partner approaches to identify optimal GTM approach
  • Collaborate with regional partners to understand and translate customer and market needs into product solutions that deliver substantial value propositions
  • Drive feasibility and viability assessments across North America, Asia Pacific, Central Europe Middle East and Africa, European Union, and Latin America to ensure regional relevance and regulatory alignment
  • Collaborate with global platform owners as well as core technology teams on the planning, prioritization and execution of the product roadmaps
  • Promote lean design principles and scalable architecture across cross-functional technology teams
  • Ensure the product strategy and product roadmaps are aligned and well-articulated to customers, prospects and partners, as well as internally within Visa
  • Develop GTM strategy and manage key commercialization activities
  • Establish and codify processes to ensure a simplified sales, implementation and onboarding model to support scale
  • Educate and empower regional teams to drive client adoption & market penetration
  • Monitor product performance, enhance KPI dashboards, derive intelligence to ensure data driven decision making

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), or PhD with 6+ years of experience
  • MBA or Advanced Degree is highly desirable
  • 7+ years of relevant B2B payments experience in product leadership in high growth companies, including products within financial technology industry or related industries
  • Deep product management experience within commercial/B2B payments
  • Experienced product leader with a record of accomplishment for creating and developing new product capabilities from initial concept to industry leadership
  • Proven track record of developing and executing a product vision for successful products based on deep understanding of customer needs
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new opportunities to innovate and differentiate with evidence of tangible business results
  • Experience managing and developing strong partnership with technology teams to influence and co-create shared roadmaps
  • Effective leadership and people management skills, with a focus on developing diverse, high performing teams and fostering an inclusive culture that is inquisitive and collaborative
  • Excellent ability to develop and communicate strategy, and secure internal investment for products
  • Natural collaborator, with excellent communication skills and strong executive presence
  • Must be self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity, possessing the maturity and competence to influence across multiple levels and organizations including internal and external stakeholders
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 160,660.00 to 232,900.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
