Job Family Description

Engineering roles perform engineering work in operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments. They may design and scale up manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment and tests manufactured products to maintain quality. They may plan, design, and estimate time and cost and oversees construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems, and components. They analyze and develop solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures. They develop and apply engineering standards and procedures and provide advice on issues within the engineering field.

Discipline Description

Engineering - Multidiscipline personnel typically manage a multidiscipline group of engineers. Responsibilities are within the Engineering Function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

This positions responsibilities include but are not limited to: overseeing design of all classified and unclassified tooling, fixturing, and training objects; War Reserve (WR) and mock WR product definition management and local configuration control; Transformation of product definition into manufacturing definition and configuration control, management of product and manufacturing definition requirements, NC code programming of all SRPPF machine tool equipment; development and implementation of product lifecycle management systems; development and management of budgets and staffing; interfacing with multiple NSE working groups including JOWOG and MBIT.

- Overseeing the manufacturing engineering design group responsible of all classified and unclassified tooling, fixturing, and training objects.
- Overseeing the NC programming group responsible for developing the G&M codes for lathes, mills, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Being the lead voice and ensuring through influence of other organizations that the digital thread is maintained from the product definition all the way to the production step that satisfies the requirement.
- Planning and execution of licensing/software installations for multiple software packages including PLM (Product lifecycle management), RM (Requirements Management), CAD (Computer Aided Drafting), NC (Numerical Control), and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing).
- Overseeing the product definition function of the SRPPF mission
- Overseeing the manufacturing definition function of the SRPPF mission.

Required Qualifications

* Twelve or more YOE as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed plus three or more years of experience (YOE) in a relevant management role, OR Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field plus eight or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed, OR Master's Degree in a relevant field plus five or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

- Current Q clearance
- Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software.
- Experience with managing product design requirements.
- Experience with tooling, fixturing, product, or equipment design.
- Prior experience supporting manufacturing in the Nuclear Security Enterprise, Department of Defense, aerospace, or medical.
- Prior experience with establishing and maintaining a digital thread from design to production.
- Prior experience with DPBPS (Defense Programs and Business Process System)

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
