Job Description
Position Summary: This role provides comprehensive support to students at the UMSL College of Optometry from recruitment through graduation. The position also supports fostering strong relationships with alumni and community partners and key administrative functions within the Office of Student Services. Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide holistic student support services throughout the student lifecycle-from recruitment and admissions to graduation.
- Serve as first point of contact for prospective and current students, answering inquiries related to financial aid, admissions, registration, and student accounts, by phone, in-person, and virtually.
- Support course registration, lab scheduling, tutoring coordination, academic progress tracking, and non-academic issue resolution.
- Coordinate admissions processes including communication with prospective students, application review, interview scheduling and processing of admissions materials.
- Provide administrative and project support to the Associate Dean of Student Services and Alumni Relations and the Director of Student Services and Alumni Relations.
- Serve as the staff liaison to the UMSL Pre-Optometry Club.
- Support the Associate Dean and Director in implementing strategies to engage alumni and community stakeholders through events, communications, and ongoing relationship-building.
- Collaborate with the Office of Alumni Engagement to plan, market, and execute alumni and community programming.
- Attend and represent the College at local and regional alumni and community events.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Shift
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Monday thru Friday.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years for experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired if necessary. A vested interest in supporting student success.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $14.80 - $20.32 Grade: GGS- 006 University Title: Student Support Specialist I Internal applicants can determine their University title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
