. As a driver you will be operating an Automated truck collecting solid waste and transporting it to appropriate disposal sites. This Position requires you to work independently, in addition Drivers are expected to deliver excellence in customer service at all times. You will be cross trained in Automated Side Load Garbage Trucks, Front Load Garbage Trucks, and Roll Off Trucks. . Job Duties:
- Operate various commercial refuse trucks safely and efficiently:
- Automated Side Load (ASL)
- Front Load (FL)
- Roll-Off (RO)
- Collect waste from residential and commercial customers on assigned routes
- Use onboard computer system to track and verify service completion
- Read and follow route sheets or GPSroutingprovided by dispatcher
- Load and secure trash bins orcontainers, ensuring proper placement for lifting arms
- Use hydraulic controls to lift and emptycontainersinto truck hopper
- Safely maneuver truck through narrow streets, alleys, and congested areas
- Exit cab as needed to reposition bins, clean up spills, or secure areas
- Perform dailypre- and post-trip inspectionson vehicle and report any maintenance needs
- Refuel andmaintain truck cleanliness, inside and out
- Monitor container conditions and report damage, overages, or unsafe conditions
- Work independently while maintainingcourteous, professional service
- Comply with all company, local, state, and federalsafety regulationsand policies
. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
- Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times every day while on route.
- Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.
- The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement. OR ABILITY TO EARN WITHIN 6 MONTHS.
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50+ lbs repeatedly
