About this role

The role of the Service Manager is to achieve excellent customer service results consistent with the corporate mission "to dominate every market in which we choose to do business". Hire, coach and train committed, focused, and capable associates to serve customers' needs consistent with our strategic plan. Establish an appropriate sense of urgency and a "winning attitude".

What You'll Do:



  • Reports to Director of Service - DIRECTAIR
  • At least 50% travel as needed to provide local support
  • Develop and implement annual Plans of Action for local Leaders. Hold them accountable and implement/execute well
  • Proper selection, hiring and training of necessary service personnel, including local managers, supervisors, and technicians to ensure the business is properly equipped in alignment with growth plans
  • Key responsibility is the exceptional training of applicable service personnel across area of responsibility
  • Accountable to the combined P&L for Service and Regional financial objectives for the specified area of responsibility
  • Weekly interactions with service managers in alignment with local POAs- keep the teams on track, identify gaps and provide feedback and training to expedite improvement
  • Work with Service Managers and the Corporate Safety Manager to ensure all technicians are up to date with all required safety training and refreshers
  • Ensure all members of the "Regional" service team have clear expectations and training/development plans to support the objective of providing an excellent culture now and in the future
  • Monthly team communication to report out on progress, successes and areas for improvement
  • Engage in quarterly business reviews with local managers to ensure alignment with strategic and financial goals. Develop and implement RIPs where necessary to get back on track if needed. This will likely be in alignment with required quarterly meetings hosted by VP.


What You'll Need:



  • Minimum 8+ years as Service Manager with full department P&L responsibility
  • Relevant technical or business degree required, MBA preferred
  • Extensive understanding of compressed air technology strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of ISM or equivalent field service management software required
  • Must be fully computer literate, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other software tools necessary to effectively complete the task
  • Requires clean driving record and the ability to travel at least 50% of the time
  • Fluent in safety requirements and subsequent training needs to ensure top quality safety environment for associates and customer requirements
  • Comfortable with direct and indirect management control- should be able to effectively collaborate with multiple departments
