Equipment Engineering Senior Manager/Director
Location: Farmer's Branch, Texas

FormFactor is a global leader in semiconductor test and measurement technologies. We are expanding our operations in Farmer's Branch, Texas, and building a new team to drive innovation and operational excellence in equipment engineering.

Position Overview
We are seeking an adaptable and resilient leader to oversee a local team of equipment engineers and technicians at our newly acquired facility. This individual will be responsible for ensuring equipment availability KPIs are met while maintaining operating expenses within budget. The ideal candidate will not only manage maintenance but will drive continuous improvement by implementing permanent solutions to enhance equipment performance. This role will also lead new tool installations to support the facility's growth and technological advancement.

This leader must stay attuned to industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive world-class factory performance. They will work closely with the process team to implement fault detection (FDC), predictive maintenance strategies, and out-of-control action plans. Additionally, they will oversee the learning management system (LMS) for the equipment team, ensuring comprehensive training materials and continuous skill development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of equipment engineers and technicians to support manufacturing operations
  • Ensure optimal equipment availability and reliability through proactive maintenance and improvement initiatives
  • Oversee tool installation and deinstallation processes, ensuring seamless integration of new equipment
  • Manage equipment operating expenses, ensuring cost-effective solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in equipment performance
  • Maintain compliance with safety and operational standards
  • Provide technical expertise, with preferred experience in lithographic, plating, cleans, and plasma/RF equipment
  • Partner with the process team to implement FDC, predictive maintenance, and out-of-control action plans
  • Develop and manage the LMS for the equipment team, ensuring structured training programs
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve equipment management strategies


Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven leadership experience in equipment engineering within a semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environment
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Expertise in equipment maintenance, installation, and optimization
  • Ability to analyze and implement long-term solutions to improve equipment reliability
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • A proactive mindset, continuously seeking innovative solutions to enhance equipment performance
