Network Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer plays a crucial role in administering, securing, and monitoring, AXIS' network services and technology, ensuring exceptional security, availability, reliability, scalability, and audit compliance. This dynamic role involves hands-on troubleshooting, executing projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to tackle complex issues and manage daily operations. Success is measured by maintaining a resilient and secure network infrastructure that aligns with AXIS' organizational goals.

What will you do in this role?

  • Administer and Maintain Networking Devices: Carry out day-to-day administration, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of existing networking devices and platforms to ensure optimal performance and security.

  • Proactive Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Provide proactive remote systems monitoring and troubleshooting support to ensure optimum service availability and swiftly resolve any issues.

  • Operational Improvement Plans: Collaborate with Leads to create operational improvement plans and participate in transforming these improvements into scalable and automated workflows to enhance efficiency.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Assist in troubleshooting complex issues across the enterprise network using automation and hands-on technical troubleshooting to identify and resolve problems.

  • Situational Awareness: Maintain situational awareness over the AXIS environment, including ongoing major incidents, ensuring timely and effective responses.

  • Leadership and Mentoring: Serve as a technical resource to other colleagues in the Network Team and other cross-functional teams, participating in escalation support and mentoring.

  • Risk Mitigation Strategies: Support in identifying potential operational risks and contribute to the development of strategies to mitigate them through performance monitoring, trend analysis, and capacity monitoring.

  • Oversight of Operational Activities: Maintain awareness and oversight of critical operational activities and major changes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.

  • Threat-Hunting Participation: Participate in threat-hunting activities as required by the SecOps Team, contributing to the identification and mitigation of security threats.

  • Emergency Response and Analysis: Engage in technical bridges and participate in emergency responses, providing detailed analysis for postmortem reviews to help prevent future occurrences.

  • Documentation and Policy Maintenance: Contribute to the documentation and maintenance of operational policies and procedures.

About You:

What You Need to Have:

  • Cloud Networking (Specifically Azure):Azure Networking Fundamentals: Proficiency in the foundational concepts of Azure networking, including virtual networks, subnets, and network interfaces.

  • Azure Load Balancing: Expertise in configuring and managing Azure Load Balancer to distribute traffic efficiently across multiple servers.

  • VPN and ExpressRoute: Experience in setting up and managing VPN gateways and ExpressRoute connections for secure and reliable network connectivity.

  • Azure Network Security: Knowledge of Azure network security features, including Network Security Groups (NSGs), Azure Firewall, and DDoS protection.

  • Site-to-Site VPN: Experience in configuring and managing site-to-site VPNs.

  • Load Balancing: Expertise in load balancing technologies, including F5 Big IP GTM and F5 Big IP LTM.

  • Routing and SDWAN: Knowledge of multi-homed BGP architecture, OMP, BGP, EIGRP, and SDWAN technologies.

  • Switching: Expertise in Catalyst switching and Nexus switching.

  • Internet Connectivity: Experience in managing internet connectivity solutions.

  • Wireless Services: Expertise in wireless services, including wireless controllers and wireless access points.

  • Cisco Identity Engine (ISE) and Authentication Services: Proficiency in Radius, TACACS, AAA, and NAC.

  • Cisco FTD Firewall: Experience in administration, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades.

Preferred to have:

  • Zscaler: Knowledge of ZIA, ZPA, and ZCC.

  • Workload Security: Experience with Cisco Secure Workload (formerly Tetration).

  • Communication: Able to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience at all levels, including Executive Leadership.

Role Factors:

In this role, you will typically be required to:

  • Be present in the office three days a week

  • Handle change requests and participate in troubleshooting major issues outside of business hours

  • Work extended hours to support projects or resolve any issues that arise.

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of 120k to 140k (Chicago, IL), 110k to 140k (Alpharetta, GA). Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location. In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance. On top of this, you will be eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which includes medical plans for you and your family, health and wellness programs, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, and much more.

Where this role is based in the United States of America, this role is Exempt for FLSA purposes.
