Location: Oak Ridge, TN What You'll Do
The Supply Chain Management (SCM) Multi-Function Specialist will work as part of a team of Y-12 Materials Management professionals in the Logistics and Materials Management area in support of Y-12 operations. Provides Logistical and Materials Management support and other activities that may be delegated within the Supply Chain Management organization. Serves as Relief Management as requested supporting crew briefs, operations and ensuring work is performed in compliance with safety and operations procedures. Will be expected to collaborate with Supply Chain counterparts to share knowledge and expertise in an integrated organization to leverage best practices, common skills & resources. Expected to support a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. Responsible for independent work and priority of material movement and logistics coordination. Accountable for the quality level of deliverables, actions and impact/results within delegated warrant level. Must be able to manage high-volume and complex workload with competing deadlines while providing attention to detail. Performs duties with opportunity to exercise initiative, independent judgment and discretion under minimal supervision. Has latitude to recommend improvements in program procedures, technology utilization and automation. Will be required to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of applicable federal, state, DOE, corporate and plant rules, regulations, and operating policies & procedures. Position requires completion of Derivative Classifier training and obtaining a photography pass in addition to STR training and responsible for procurement and oversight/disposition of rental equipment such as parking lot lights, vehicles and boom lifts. Responsible for assigning training for employees and running monthly reports to ensure all training is completed timely. Responsible for scanners, radios and forklift maintenance and troubleshooting. Compiles data and updates scanner software and tables as required. Instructs personnel on proper use of equipment. Familiar with DOT regulations for Fleet Inspections, Load Securement and Maintenance. Coordinates with production personnel during daily meetings to establish priorities, sequences and required delivery dates and instructs suppliers accordingly. Makes delivery notifications and communicates with drivers and users. Responsible for development of Accelerated Vendor Inventory Delivery (AVID) schedule and maintains status of all materials, equipment, consumables, etc. required for a Production or work orders. Maintains working files of expediting related documents to include documented conversations and schedules to initiate follow-up actions. Obtains copies of supplier's orders for material, performs sub-supplier expediting, where necessary, and works closely with supplier quality representatives to ensure awareness of materials subject to quality performance and their locations of manufacture. Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
