SALARY RANGE: $93,500 - 105,500 with 12% bonus

POSITION SUMMARY:
Manages the planning process to create integrated project schedules. The role is responsible for planning scheduling and tracking of activity orders and work packages; including work definition, progression, change order scoping and resource loading with Primavera P6.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Acts as a key member of the Project Management Team (PMT).
  • Uses planning skills to refine the project strategy into a project plan consisting of key events, major milestones, and durations of top-level activities necessary to execution.
  • Uses Primavera P6 scheduling software to develop all detailed activities, logical relationships, durations, and resource loading.
  • Supports output of Control Account Plans from within P6, and supports Integrated Baseline Reviews.
  • Collects and assesses the validity of progress data. Updates the departments scheduled progress, and consults with the direct report whenever updates present new or ongoing execution risks.
  • Generates periodic data analytics to generate routine and customized reports from Primavera, IFS, Excel, SharePoint and Power Point as needed. Including updated schedules, resource profiles, budget and schedule variances, cost projections, impact of external events such as changes, and "what-if" reports.
  • Supports Earned Value Management and other project controls deliverables of on-going projects within P6.
  • Participates in Change Order management, including impact analysis, and budget adjustments and maintenance within P6.
  • Assists with the development of schedule inputs for proposals, and support estimating efforts with scheduling information as needed and assigned.
  • Maintains data through appropriate file handling, safeguarding and archiving data as required by policies and procedures established.
  • Works with customers at off-site locations providing scheduling information and project status.


JOB SCOPE:
Operates within general parameters, but must use sound judgment and independent decision-making when carrying out most job responsibilities. Has the ability to influence and recommend modifying existing protocols. The individual works independently with little or no supervision.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Although the Planner does not have direct supervisory responsibility, this role is expected to provide technical coaching for less experienced staff members.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:
The individual works and interacts with many levels within Vigor. Works closely with other schedulers and the customer to integrate schedules.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 (2+ years), including full resource/cost loading and full P6 EV capabilities.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment with at least five (5) years in a planning or scheduling capacity is required.
  • Experience with work orders, critical path method scheduling and material procurement is required.
  • Experience with EVMS is preferred.
  • Knowledge of IFS applications and Data migration tools is preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Analytical abilities necessary to develop and maintain integrated schedules and supporting data.
  • Must be a well-organized, detail-oriented self-starter.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, work well independently and in the team setting, prioritize duties and follow task through to completion in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to handle competing priorities and deadlines effectively and respond well to last minute, high priority, and time sensitive projects.
  • Ability to handle pressure of constant interruptions necessary.
  • Ability to work in a software intensive environment.
  • Must possess excellent PC Skills; must be well-versed in Windows, Word, Excel.
  • Knowledge of Maritime fabrication is desired.
  • Must be self-starter and require minimum supervision.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required. AA degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. The individual may be required to be in production areas in yard. He/she must be able to walk to and from job sites. The incumbent must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. There may be local travel and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice.
