The role is responsible for planning scheduling and tracking of activity orders and work packages; including work definition, progression, change order scoping and resource loading with Primavera P6. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
JOB SCOPE: Operates within general parameters, but must use sound judgment and independent decision-making when carrying out most job responsibilities. Has the ability to influence and recommend modifying existing protocols. The individual works independently with little or no supervision. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Although the Planner does not have direct supervisory responsibility, this role is expected to provide technical coaching for less experienced staff members. INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: The individual works and interacts with many levels within Vigor. Works closely with other schedulers and the customer to integrate schedules. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required. AA degree or equivalent work experience is preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: None required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. The individual may be required to be in production areas in yard. He/she must be able to walk to and from job sites. The incumbent must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. There may be local travel and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice.
