Job Details:
The School of Medicine is searching for a Grant Project Coordinator, Spanish Services for the Macon, Georgia campus.

Responsibilities:

The Grant Project Coordinator will coordinate all aspects of South Georgia Healthy Start's (SGHS) Spanish services focused on eliminating disparities in maternal and infant mortality in rural Georgia. Positioned within the Center for Rural Health and Health Disparities, duties will include managing all aspects of engaging Spanish-speaking participants across the SGHS service area, delivering curricula to Spanish-speaking participants, connecting Spanish-speaking participants to resources and services, helping to recruit and enroll Spanish-speaking participants, facilitating Spanish awareness campaigns, conducting outreach within Spanish-speaking communities, translating and interpreting as necessary across the program, representing the program at summits and similar initiatives, supervising students and interns involved with Spanish services, assisting with English-speaking engagement and recruitment as needed, and other duties as assigned in support of SGHS. This position is supported by grant funds and is contingent upon the receipt of continued funding. Position can be filled in Macon, Statesboro, or Vidalia. Intermittent travel to, from, and within the service area will be required. Occasional travel to trainings/relevant events in other states/cities may be required, though infrequent.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and two or more years of experience in health outreach, health research, health promotion, social services, engagement with Spanish-speaking clients, or related efforts are required OR a master's degree and six months of the aforementioned experience are required. Candidates must have the ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both Spanish and English.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the university's carrier.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English (oral and written).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to travel intermittently within the service region and occasionally out of state and must be insurable by the university's carrier.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong administrative, project coordination, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building trust and rapport with diverse community members.
  • Skilled in community outreach, organizing events, and conducting educational campaigns.
