Position Title: Press Operator - 2nd or 3rd Shift
Wage: $34.92/hour Shift: 2nd or 3rd Hours: 3:00am - 11:00pm (Monday - Thursday) or 11:00pm - 7:00am (Sunday - Thursday) Are your skills not being fully utilized? Reach your maximum potential by working with QPS! QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for a Press Operator at a company in Rockford, IL. This is a direct hire position for 2nd or 3rd shift. Press Operator Responsibilities: - Interpret orders with special setups and procedures including press plates, inks, color samples and other necessary supplies - Set up complete press in necessary very close tolerances including mechanical gauging, setting of press plates, blanket, ink, and water rollers when necessary - Operate line equipment as well as feeder and tender - Train and supervise work assigned to Press Feeder and instruct oven tender on manner sheets are to be piled for specific job involved, either manually or by automatic stacker - Indicate during run, spoiled sheets that are to be either "kept separate" or discarded as spoilage - Adjust oven heats for correct bake and checks this every load during run - Adjust ink for proper running, puts in fountain, and adjusts controls for proper coverage - Adjust register and develop correct lay and color for supervisor's approval - Maintain lithographic quality with correct color and registry through run - Check sheets at discharge end for proper drying, color control and keeps ink and water fountains supplied - Retime press registry system when necessary and assemble required color samples of new jobs or replacement samples of repeat jobs for ink room files - Check recorded information on completed work orders for correct sheetage and spoilage, etc. - Supervise set-up of trailing coater making sure correct materials, etc., are being used Requirements for Press Operator: - High School Diploma or GED or at least two years of relevant experience - Able to differentiate colors effectively - Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
